Does any real footage exist of Nijinsky doing his famous jump ?
ugly fake
is les orientales a single piece of music or is it a lager opus?
He is a MASTER jumper
fake of course
There is a story, maybe you all have heard it, that when a European King saw Nijinsky perform « Le Spectre de La Rose », he came up on the stage afterwards and demanded to be shown the springboards, because he simply refused to believe any human could jump so high.
the movies and the songs composed in today s times are nothing but the reflection of human s insanity. this dance and music are so gracious…
Despite the lack of footage. I think the tales of this gentleman’s dancing are to be believed.
I am glad to know this is fake because wires were obviously involved in this stunt.
Diaghilev and Nijinsky were ahead of their time by a long way. This may have been Stravinsky?
Don’t think this can be genuine footage, but I am glad to think that homage is still payed to Nijinsky
My French grandparents saw Nijinsky dance on, I believe, four occasions. Grand’mere said that he ‘defied gravity…there seemed to be a point in those great leaps when he was suspended in the air before coming back down again to the stage…his beauty and art were such that, like a vampire it drained one of emotion and one went around for days afterwards, dazed and only half-alive…’
these are incredible works. muybridge in reverse, or muybridge in motion, i’m not quite sure. brilliant.
if any real footage of nijinsky dancing were real, they would be sold at auction for billions of dollars – this can’t be but a well-constructed fake
ASTONISHING…!!!!! I’m speechless…who composed the music for this ballet??
I promise you christiancomte-this one literally took my breath away when I clicked on the video. I am overjoyed!! I believe this is for real-and I have seen Nijinsky dance for an oh-so-achingly brief instant! 5 Stars Christian-the most!
1910 is the year my grandparents were born. I would love to think that my great-grandparents at least got to see the great Nijinsky dance! I love this footage-thanks for sharing.
